Situated adjacent to an iconic catholic church in the Sydney suburb of Marayong this extensive re-development of existing aged care facilities was completed in 2009 at a cost of $14.5m.
Designed to adjoin an existing nursing this 90 bed ‘aging in place’ facility consists of low-care, dementia specific care and high-care residential wings, together with an administration centre, a chapel with a specially commissioned stained glass window and furniture, a large screen cinema complete surround sound, a multipurpose hall, renovated kitchen, new laundry and staff facilities, landscaped gardens and courtyards, including a specifically designed garden for the dementia care residents.
Particular care was taken to ensure that the group communal facilities are located centrally for easy access to all residents of the facility, with smaller lounge facilities provided in each care wing.
