This upgrade is the last in a series for the facility, eliminating the last of the four bed wards and converting them into modern 1 and 2 bed rooms, all with en-suites and air conditioning.

In addition, in order to externally reflect the changes that have been made to the resident areas within, a contemporary entry is to be constructed for the facility.  A new lightweight sculptural entry walkway is to be constructed, providing a covered, purpose built accessible pedestrian pathway from Kathleen Street through to the new enlarged Entry Foyer and covered car drop off point.  This will give the residents, staff and visitors a safer and more pleasant entry to the site, and the facility a renewed street presence.
